Overview

The adventure begins aboard a 35 ft (9-metre) covered cabin cruiser, with an open back viewing deck and washroom. You will travel through the heart of Clayoquot Sound, to Hot Springs Cove. You will then have 3 hours to walk the boardwalk and relax in the natural, thermal springs. The scenic walk to/from the springs is through ancient rainforest (which includes numerous steps; a medium level of fitness is required for this excursion) approximately 40 minutes each way, and includes stairs to climb amidst longer, flat sections. Brinf along good, comfortable walking shoes (also water shoes for the hot springs if possible, but not required), raingear, towel, a bathing suit and a packed lunch, including water. (Whale sightings during the tour are possible, however not guaranteed, as they are contingent on migration patterns and weather conditions.)*Sea to Sky option: the return trip is by sea plane, departing from the Hot Springs at approximately the same time as the boat, but arriving back to Tofino after just 1 20 minute scenic flight. 4.5 to 5 hours duration.

Location/Directions

Departing from Jamie's Whaling Station, located at Tofino's whaling wharf, 1 minute from the downtown core. A 22-foot high life-sized carved cedar whale tail marks the entrance to the marina facility. Free parking isavailable including RV (motorhome) parking.Complimentary dog kennels are also available.

All participantswill be required to sign a liability waiver form prior todeparture. A medium level of fitness is required for thisexcursion. Passengers should check in one hour prior todeparture. British Columbia parks are now charging a $3.00 park use fee, to be charged locally (fees are subject to change).
