Scenic World offers a range of experiences found nowhere else on Earth and appeals to adults and children alike. Scenic World is located within the Blue Mountains Area and is less than two hours from Sydney by road or train. Scenic world is a popular attraction for both locals living in Sydney and many thousands of tourists on holiday in Sydney. Scenic World opens from 9.00am-5.00pm every day of the year.

The Scenic Railway is no ordinary railway line as you will quickly discover as you descend 415 meters through a cliff side tunnel into an ancient rainforest. The Scenic railway is the steepest incline railway in the world. Alight from the train at the bottom and explore the Scenic Walkway which will guide you through the forest to the Scenic Cableway platform. The Scenic Railway can carry up to 84 passengers and operates every 10 minutes.

This disabled wheelchair adapted boardwalk through the rainforest is designed to ensure everyone can explore the natural beauty of this attraction. You will learn fascinating facts about the local flora and history of the valley and along the way you will also find the Marrangaroo Spring where you can have a refreshing drink of pure Blue Mountains water. Take a break in the Rainforest Room deep within the valley, boasting bench seating for up to 110 people.

The steepest aerial cable car in Australia has also be designed to accommodate disabled visitors. The cableway takes you on a 545 metre ride into or out of the rainforest of the Jamison Valley. Once at the bottom, you can experience the 300 metre Scenic Walkway as you make your way to the base of the Scenic Railway which will take you back up to the top again.


Don’t look down if you are afraid of heights! The Skyway is the world’s first cablecar with an Electro-scenic glass floor. As the Skyway Car moves across the valley, part of the floor becomes transparent, allowing you to see the valley nearly 300 metres below from an extraordinary perspective! You can walk from the one end of the Skyway Car to the other across the glass floor and it almost feels like you are walking on air. The 720 metre journey takes you above ancient ravines and dazzling waterfalls. The 360 degree bird’s eye view takes in the Three Sisters, Katoomba Falls, Mount Solitary and the never ending expanse of the Jamison Valley.
